Recent Paranormal Experience?
This started on October 20th, 2006
The following is my email (reformatted for this blog) sent to a Paranormal elist I am on.
****************
[from original email post]
The first part of this I was pretty sure was nothing more than an unfortunate animal decomposing under our house, the second part is as of yet unexplainable. (As the day wears on, I am less sure about the dead animal theory as well)
Let me elaborate. And, for later reference, neither of us smoke.
When I awoke this morning and went over to my shelf to grab my hat (I am an ethnic Calo Gypsy and wear a hat or scarf on my head daily symbolizing my married status), I smelled a strange smell that seemed to be coming from the shelf and the air around it, right below my nose level (I am 5'7"). I tried to find the source of the smell, even got down on the floor to smell the heating vent and Nothing! Not a smell coming from the vent. But, when I stood back up, I could smell it again. I figured it was just some animal...we live in a small country town with the Sierra mountains and woods all around, so many animals wander around the house...I let it go.
Later, I went into the bedroom to help my husband prepare for work. As we walked into the room, me first, then him, I saw smoke! A stream of smoke floating in front of me, right around the same place I had smelled the smell. I could smell a burning smell, but it was like no burning smell I had ever smelled before...in other words, it was not like a wood, or plastic burning smell, not a gas smell...then the smoke disapated and took the smell with it. BUT, that other smell was back. My husband walked into the room and could smell it (the original smell, not the burning smell) in the corner too, but neither of us can smell it anywhere else but in that linear section at right under my nose as we first walked into the room, and on the other side of the room in the corner. No where else or in between.
Also, after my husband left for work, I went through the whole place saying a cleansing chant. I don't know if I imagined it, or if the cat made a noise, but I heard a bump coming from our room. (The cat was on the other side of the house). Now I feel like I am being watched.
UPDATE [sent to same Paranormal elist on Oct 23, 2006]
Well, it happened again. Yesterday (Sunday Oct 22). I was in the bathroom getting ready to go to the store and all of a sudden I smelled the first smell. (It actually smells like a lobster tank of all things). It filled up the whole room and I heard my son (he's 9) tell my husband in the living room that he smelled something. He described it as a lobster smell too. I called to them
to come look in the bedroom (we had only told our son about the smoke, not the other smell or where in the room the smoke was). He saw the smoke and saw it in the exact same place that my husband and I had seen it the other day.
UPDATE #2 [sent to Paranormal elist on Oct 24, 2006]
It happened again today but this time the amount of smoke was more, it filled nearly half the room but again had no apparent source...it seemed to be coming from the air. I asked it to tell me what it needed, that I was trying to listen to its needs and the more I talked the more it disapated until finally it was gone. The smell was a bit different this time, not so much of a "lobster" burny smell, but still unlike any burning smell I have ever smelled. Immediately after it disapated my cat Onyx came in, meowed really loudly and laid down on the bed and fell asleep.
The other difference this time was that I did not smell the plain lobster smell before seeing the smoke as we did in the other cases.
UPDATE #3
On October 26, my son and I smelled the "lobster" smell, but no smoke was seen.
*As of posting time on November 8, 2006, this phenomena has not happened again.*
